The SchoolThe school, founded in 1979 is located in a gracious Victorian mansion close to the city centre. It offers 12 classrooms, a common room, library and computer facilities in the main building. A few minutes walk away the annexe has a further seven spacious classrooms. The school has the following affiliations or memberships: British Council, English UK, International House Organisation LessonsThe English lessons usually take place in the mornings and afternoons Monday to Friday. They are organised by levels (elementary to advanced) and comprise a maximum of fifteen students. The morning lessons integrate the four main language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. The afternoon workshops vary but may include current affairs, writing and vocabulary, speaking and pronunciation, idioms, local culture, literature and film studies. The course also includes 7 sessions of supplementary structured study per week. These sessions give you access to learning materials such as online language exercices, course books and interactive computer programmes, allowing you to focus on the language discipline of your choice. ActivitiesThe school offers an activity programme in which you may participate on a pay as you go basis. If you want to do an activity which is not on the programme, don't hesitate to ask the school to help you organise it! Activities in Salisbury may include theather visits, indoor sports, dance evenings, quiz evenings, visits to London, Bath, Oxford, Cardiff and Stratford/Warwick. AccommodationThe programme can be booked with or without accommodation. The school offers the following types of accommodation: host families, student residence, self catering apartments and hotels. |
