Located on the west coast of France, Bordeaux is not only the wine capital of the world, but also a vibrant center of trade, industry and business.

The School

The school is located in a spacious nineteenth century three-storey building in the heart of the city. It offers fifteen bright air-conditioned classrooms, a computer and self study room as well as a lovely lounge leading onto a very pretty sheltered garden.

Lessons

The work placement programme in Bordeaux consists of a four week (or longer) French course followed by a 4 to 12 week company work placement. Students can choose which French course to enrol on: standard course, intensive course or combined course. The aim of the four week language course is to enable students to develop their knowledge and communication skills, both oral and written, before starting their placement.

Companies generally require students to work about 35 hours per week. Students have the potential of being placed in companies and sectors such as tourism, social work, marketing, graphic design, advertising, handicrafts or agriculture. They are invited to integrate a French professional structure and to get involved with its daily running, to re-explore their own linguistic acquisitions and to be confronted with the realities of French companies.

Applications must be made at least two months prior to the beginning of the placement. The placement fee is 360 Euros. It does not include the four week language course fee. Please ask us for a personal quote.

Accommodation

The course can be booked with or without accommodation. The following types of accommodation are available: host family (half board), apartments in Residence such as Residence Citea** and Aparthotel Citadines*** or hotels. Please ask us for more detailed information.
