Montpellier is a lively university city with year-round sunshine. The School

The school is situated right in the heart of Montpellier, two minutes away from Place de la Comédie on the first floor of a seventeenth century town house. It offers a reception area, six classrooms, a staff-room, a local information centre and a roof-terrace.

Lessons

The work placement programme in Montpellier consists of a one week (or longer) French course followed by a 1 to 6 months company work placement or 2 to 6 months hotel work placement. The language course takes place before the placement (one week minimum) during which time an interview is scheduled with the company where the student will be placed.

Companies generally require students to work 35 to 39 hours per week. Students can apply for a short placement (one to three months) or for a longer placement (four to six months). The shorter placements are often not remunerated whereas the longer placements pay a minimum of ?150 per month. Types of employment include administration, care work, information technology, engineering, import/export, insurance, marketing, research, media, advertising, secretarial, travel and tourism and many more. Note that certain specialised fields of employment may require both training and previous experience.

Applications must be made at least two months prior to the beginning of the placement. The placement fee shown below includes a one week standard course.

Accommodation

The programme can be booked with or without accommodation. Participants can choose between host family and studio-style residential accommodation in single or shared rooms all with the following options: B&B, half board or self catering.
