Your French A-level is coming up and you are feeling a little nervous. Why not enrol on one of our very successful A-level revision courses! The courses are specifically designed to help students prepare for their examination. The course in Bordeaux takes place in February, the course in Montpellier takes place in February and at Easter and the course in Chambery takes place at Easter.

Montpellier is a lively university city with year-round sunshine. It has something to offer all tastes including the beautiful and historic old town with trendy shops and open-air cafés, the modern and impressive Antigone area with its Olympic-size swimming pool. The sandy beaches and warm waters of the Mediterranean are also just 8 km away.
The SchoolThe school in Montpellier was opened in 1995. It welcomes around 600 students each year. Location: The school is situated on the first floor of a seventeenth century town house right in the heart of Montpellier, two minutes away from Place de la Comédie. Facilities: The school offers a reception area, six classrooms, a local information centre and a roof-terrace. In the peak season, the school also uses an annexe about 5 minutes walking distance from the main school. Students: The school welcomes students of all ages from 17 years old to students in their 80ies. The average age is 21. The majority of the students come from Europe (Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, Poland, Britain), the remaining from the US, the Czech Republic and Canada. Bank Holidays: There are no lessons on French national holidays. Missed lessons are rescheduled during the week. The school has the following affiliations or memberships: FIYTO, ALTO, GWEA LessonsThis course consists of French lessons from 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday and two afternoons from 2pm to 4.30pm. The course is adapted to the needs of the 'A' Level exam, and will be a combination of listening, writing, speaking and reading exercises as well as thorough grammar revision. Example questions taken from past papers are used. First day: Students need to be at the school at 8.25am on the first morning. From 8.30 to 10am students take a written and oral placement test. The first lesson begin at 10.30am. An orientation session, including a walking tour of Montpellier takes place from 1.30 to 3.30pm on the first afternoon. ActivitiesThe activity programme includes a selection of cultural, educational and fun activities from a Welcome Meeting, Town Walk, Sports, Video Night, Indoor Swimming at the Olympic Swimming-pool, Half-day excursion to Nîmes, Bowling and Ice-skating. AccommodationThe course may be booked with or without accommodation. The school offers host family accommodation with half board. Permission to Go Out UnsupervisedStudents will only be allowed to go out in the evening if their parents have completed and signed the 'going out permission' form. If so, they will be allowed to go out in Montpellier unaccompanied until 11pm from Monday to Thursday and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Students under 14 are not allowed out unsupervised. |
