Known as a lovely spa resort in Auvergne, Vichy is a very pretty town with great cultural activities, sports and balneotherapy. Centrally located, it is also the ideal departure point for excursions in Auvergne and in the Bourbonnais region, as well as for weekends in Paris, Lyon or Provence.
The SchoolThe school in Vichy was opened in 1964. It welcomes 3000 students each year. Location: The school is centrally located on the campus of the new University and Technology Centre. Facilities: It offers thirty classrooms, a lecture hall, a multi media research centre and four multi-media laboratories. Students: The school welcomes students of all ages from 16 years old to students in their 80ies. The average age is 25. The majority of the students come from Italy, Germany, Spain, Mexico, China, Japan. Bank Holidays: There are no lessons on French national holidays. Missed lessons are neither rescheduled nor refunded (except private lessons). The school has the following affiliations or memberships: FLE, Edufrance, AMFORTH LessonsThis course consists of group lessons every morning from 8.45am to 12. The lessons are organised by levels (beginners to advanced) and comprise 10 to 15 students per group. First day: Students need to be at the school at 8am on the first morning. On arrival, students sit a placement test. Lessons begin at 10am during the year and 2.30pm in the peak summer season. ActivitiesYou will spend the afternoon at 'les Célestins', a beautiful balneotherapy centre entirely dedicated to your fitness, beauty and well being. The centre has three floors: the "atrium balnéo" (bathing atrium) with its individual treatment rooms and swimming pool, the "atrium détente" (relaxation atrium) with its saunas, hammam, jacuzzi, sports halls, and herbal tea room, and finally the "atrium beauté" (beauty atrium) with the finest equipment available. The programme includes two treatments per day as well as unlimited access to the pool, jaccuzzi, sauna, hamman and gym. You can choose among all the following treatments: Vichy shower, multi-jet bath, stimulating jet shower, hydromassage, seaweed treatment and circulatory massage. AccommodationThe course can be booked with or without accommodation. The following types of accommodation are available: host family (B&B or half board), student residence, studio, hotels or campsite. |
