The School

The school in Tahiti was opened in 2005. It welcomes about 50 students each year.

Location: The school is situated thirty kilometres from Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia at the school director's home next to the beachside and lagoon.

Facilities: The school offers three classrooms, one inside the house and two on the porche.

Students: The school welcomes students of all ages from 16 years old to students in their 80ies. The average age is 30. The majority of the students come from America, Switzerland and Germany, the remaining from Australia, New Zealand, Chili and Japan.

Bank Holidays: There are no lessons on French national holidays. Missed lessons are rescheduled.

Lessons

The lessons are taught in the morning from Monday to Friday. The course is made to suit your specific requirements.

First day: Students need to be at the school at 7.30am. Lessons begin mid-morning after a short introduction to the school and a placement test.

Activities

The school offers various activities in the afternoon after class: visits to museums and gardens, cinema and shopping trips. Longer excursions, such as hiking and a trip to Moorea, take place at the weekend. Watersports and trips to the beach and lagoon can be organised any day of the week. Watersports include snorkelling, diving lessons, sailing, surfing, kite surfing, fun boarding or riding a hobbie cat.
For nights out, we recommend Papeete where you will find many bars and nightclubs, open until dawn and especially lively at the weekend.

Accommodation

The course can be booked with or without accommodation. The following types of accommodation are available: host family (room or private apartment), bungalow at the Hiti Moana Lodge or Papara Village or hotel. Please ask us for more detailed information.
