The standard course is one of our most popular courses. The main objective of the course is for you to enjoy learning the language and the culture of the country while meeting new people. Classes are held in the morning or afternoon, leaving you the rest of the day for activities, excursions, socialising or relaxation.

Amboise is a small and lively town located in Touraine, the region where they are said to speak the best French. Amboise' central location is ideal for excursions to the Loire Valley's amazing chateaux along the river Loire. Did you know that Mick Jagger has chosen Amboise as his second home?
The SchoolThe school in Amboise was opened in 1987. It welcomes around 700 students each year. Location: The language school is located in the centre of Amboise, only 5 minutes away from the shops, street cafés and bistros. Facilities: The school offers seven classrooms, a learning centre with video and audio-equipment, a computer room and a library, and on the ground floor a student lounge with a dining and reading area and a piano as well as a courtyard with a ping pong table. Students: The school welcomes students of all ages from 16 years old. The average age is around 25. The majority of the students come from Western Europe, the rest from South America, Eastern Europe and Asia. Bank Holidays: There are no lessons on French national holidays. Missed lessons are not rescheduled nor refunded (except private lessons). The school has the following affiliations or memberships: EAQUALS, Souffle LessonsThe French lessons take place in the morning from 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday. They are organised by levels (beginners to advanced) and comprise a maximum of fourteen students. The lessons integrate the four main language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. ActivitiesThe school offers an activity programme in which you may participate on a pay as you go basis. If you want to do an activity which is not on the programme, don't hesitate to ask the school to help you organise it! Activities in Amboise includes tennis, swimming, badminton, table tennis, canoeing on the river Loire, salsa, wine and cheese tasting, school festivals, pancake parties, cinema evenings, lectures on French history and architecture, song and cinema and excursions (Chambord, Chenonceau, Villandry, Chaumont or Langeais, visits to the towns of Tours, Blois and Vendôme, day trips to Mont St. Michel, Paris or Futuroscope in Poitiers). On Fridays and Sunday mornings, there is a superb market that draws in people who live all over the surrounding areas. AccommodationThe course can be booked with or without accommodation.
