The School

The school in Paris was opened in 1988. It welcomes around 1000 students each year.

Location: The centre is located near the Opera House and the department stores "Printemps" et "Galeries Lafayette".

Facilities: The school offers large bright classrooms, a lovely courtyard, vending machines with hot and cold drinks and snacks, a computer room and wifi access.

Students: The school welcomes students of all ages from 16 years old to students in their 80ies. The average age is 25 to 35. The majority of the students come from Germany, Britain, US, Brazil and Spain.

Bank Holidays: There are no lessons on French national holidays. Missed lessons are refunded.

Lessons

The French lessons take place from 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday (8.15am on the first morning). They are organised by levels (beginners to advanced) and comprise a maximum of twelve students. The lessons integrate the four main language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Discovery Workshops: The school offers various workshops in the afternoon designed for students who already have a good knowledge of French. Students can sign up for several workshops (depending on schedule). Each workshop costs 98 Eur for two weeks (6 hours). Workshops offered are: Gastronomy and the French 'Art de Vivre', Paris - the world's Fashion Capital, French Society and Mentality and Paris - the crossroads of art and creativeness - phonetics - written French.

First day: As the placement test is completed before students arrival, students can come to the school 15 mins before the start of their first lessons, ie 8.45am.

Activities

A cultural deparment is available to supply students with information, documents and brochures concerning cultural life in Paris (museums, monuments, theatre, shows, cultural centres, season tickets and street maps). They can also help you organise your own cultural programme according to your interests.

Throughout the year guided visits are available in conjunction with the Club International des Jeunes à Paris.

Accommodation

The course can be booked with or without accommodation. The following types of accommodation are available: host family (half board), student residence (summer) or hotel. Please ask us for more detailed information.
