The standard course is one of our most popular courses. The main objective of the course is for you to enjoy learning the language and the culture of the country while meeting new people. Classes are held in the morning or afternoon, leaving you the rest of the day for activities, excursions, socialising or relaxation.

Situated between the Pyrenees, the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, Toulouse is a perfect jumping off point for year round adventure: skiing, swimming, hiking, camping and exploring the region's rich 2000 year history. Toulouse is the 4th largest city and the 2nd university town in France.
The SchoolThe school in Toulouse was opened in 1991. It welcomes 700 students each year. Location: The school is located in the oldest historical district, in the very heart of the city, in a lovely 19th Century building with a courtyard. It is a 5 minute walk from Place du Capitole. Facilities: The school offers seven spacious and air-conditioned classrooms, a student lounge, a reading room and a computer lab with internet access. Students: The school welcomes students of all ages from 16 years old to students in their 80ies. The average age is 27 from Sep to Jun and 21 in Jul and Aug. The majority of the students come from Spain, the US, Germany, Britain and more. Bank Holidays: There are no lessons on French national holidays. Missed lessons are neither rescheduled nor refunded (except private lessons). The school has the following affiliations or memberships: FLE, WYSETC, TANDEM, ALTO LessonsThe French lessons take place from 9.15am to 1pm Monday to Friday. They are organised by levels (beginners to advanced) and comprise a maximum of twelve students. The lessons integrate the four main language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.> During your stay, the school can put you in contact with a local French speaker who is learning your language so that you can help each other improve in the other's language. This system of exchange allows you to discover more about French culture one-on-one, and at the same time to practice what you learn in class. First day: Students need to be at the school at 9am on the first morning. Lessons begin after an presentation of the school and staff. ActivitiesDuring the summer there is a full and varied activity programme in which you may participate on a pay as you go basis. Throughout the year the school will propose a limited number of activities, subject to student number. If you want to do an activity which is not on the programme, don’t hesitate to ask the school to help you organise it! AccommodationThe course can be booked with or without accommodation. The following types of accommodation are available: host family (Half Board), flat share with French people in Toulouse with cooking facilities, apartments and hotels. |
