Johnny Halliday, the French 'King'

Often compared as the French equivalent of Elvis Presley, Johnny is one of France's biggest stars. As well as regularly making the headline of Paris Match (thanks to his ever so interesting private life), he has sold more than 80 million discs, done over 100 tours and had 18 platinum albums over his 40 year career in the music industry.

Johnny is now about to launch a bi-monthly magazine dedicated to ..... lui même! The first edition of this new 56 page magazine is now out in France. Next time you are in France and you want to know more about our 'French King', the magazine is called Limited Access and will be sold for 7.90 euros.

Test your level in French

It is always very difficult to know our level in a foreign language. Below are a couple of sites which may help you assess your level in French.

The Council of Europe has developed a European Framework with common reference levels. Click here for description of the six levels.

The CNED offers a very good online assessment. It takes about 45 minutes to complete. Once you have completed the 14 'cards', you receive an overall score as well as a level. Click here to see the test.

La St Patrick en France

Since 1993, celebrations in France for St Patrick's day have been getting bigger and bigger. This year on 16th and 17th March, Interceltique 3C and the Festival Interceltique de Lorient will present 'La Bretagne fete la St Patrick' in Paris. For three hours on both nights, Bercy will see more than 200 artists perform a fantastic show combining music and danses.
