The School

The school in Barcelona was opened in 1999. It welcomes over 3000 students each year.

Location: The school is located in the Eixample neighborhood, between Plaza catalunya and Plaza Espana just a short walk from other famous areas of the city such as the Gran Via, Las Ramblas and the University. The school is housed in a modern 3-story building and equipped with all the amenities you could need, including a gym, solarium and access for handicapped people.

Facilities: The school has 56 classrooms, many with the latest audio visual equipment, a solarium terrace, wifi and a computer lab with free internet access, a spacious and fully stocked library, a conference room and air conditioning.

Students: The school welcomes students of all ages from 14 years old to students in their 80ies. The average age is 20. Students come from the US, Germany, Brazil, Asia, Africa, Scandinavia, Holland, France and Canada, etc.
The school also offers foreign language courses for Spanish students and can organise free conversational exchanges.

Bank Holidays: There are no lessons on Spanish national holidays. Missed lessons are neither rescheduled nor refunded (except private lessons). In case of two holidays within one week, one day of the missed lessons is rescheduled.

Lessons

The Spanish lessons take place from 9.30am to 1.30pm Monday to Friday. They are organised by levels (beginners to advanced) and comprise a maximum of ten students. The lessons integrate the four main language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Activities

Christmas in Spain is one, huge fiesta: street parties, communal festivities and fiestas galore mean that you can count on meeting plenty of locals who will be only too willing to show off their customs and traditions. During the week the school will organise various activities such as visits to typical Spanish Christmas gatherings, nativity exhibits and Epiphany parades. Most of the activities are included in the programme but some are optional and have to be paid at the school.

Note that the school is closed on 25th Dec and 1st Jan.

Accommodation

The course can be booked with or without accommodation. Types of accommodation include shared student flat, host family, private apartment, student residence or hotel.
