Would it not be cheaper for me to book directly with the language school?
Très bonne question! The prices we give you are those advertised by the schools. As agents, we work on a commission base so we do not need to add to the schools prices. You can pay in Euro (price quoted) or in Sterling (ask for our conversion). Note that most schools add a booking fee. We add this to our course prices. Experience Language does not charge any fees!
I need help choosing a course.
Pas de problème! This is what we do best. Fill in the contact us form or call us on +44(0)845 458 0578 and we will help you find the course and destination to match your requirements.
What happens if the level of my class is too easy or too difficult?
On your first day, you will usually sit an assessment test. This will help the school put you in the right class according to your level. If you feel that you have been put in the wrong class, talk to the Director of Studies of the school who will try and move you to a more suitable level if it is possible.
I am not sure if I have the level required.
The Council of Europe has developed a European Framework with common reference levels. We suggest that you have a look at it and take the self assessment. If you are still not sure, let us know and we will send you a test to assess your level.
How much progress will I / my child make?
This is very difficult to say as it depends on your current level of Spanish, the course you have chosen, the duration of your course, your learning ability and also your motivation. Note that people who have already studied a foreign language usually pick up a new language faster. Here are some tips for learning Spanish.
What type of accommodation would you recommend?
We strongly recommend you to stay in a host family. It is not only better for your Spanish but also cheaper! Through living with a family, you experience a full immersion in the Spanish life and culture and get a chance to savour some typical Spanish dishes. It is nice to have the comfort of a home and yet have the freedom to come and go as you wish. You can usually choose whether you want to stay in a single or a twin room.
Is host family accommodation for all ages?
Oui, bien sûr. Some families prefer hosting teenagers, others prefer young or older adults.
Can I find my own accommodation?
Oui. You can choose to enrol on the course only and find your own accommodation.
How do I get from the airport/station to the place where I am staying?
If you stay in a host family, the family will pick you up from the station or airport. The transfer is often free but not always. If you stay in a different type of accommodation, we will let you know of different transfer options: taxis, shuttles or buses.
I suffer allergies / I am vegetarian
Make sure you let us know in advance if you have any special religious or medical dietary requirements so we can let your host family know. It is also very important that you tell us immediately if you suffer from any allergies.
Do I need to buy any specific book(s) before I go?
En général non. Most schools will give you the choice of either buying or borrowing the book(s) you are using in class. For specific courses, it may be that it is strongly recommended that you buy the book(s). Note that some schools may ask you for a deposit when borrowing a book.
Who can I contact if there is a problem or if I am not fully satisfied?
If you have a problem or you are not happy with your course or accommodation, you should talk to the language school or Experience Language immediately. There is a solution to any problem but we must know about it to solve it. If you wait till you are back home to tell us, it is too late for us to do anything.
If we have not answered your question(s) above, please use the contact us form and we will endeavour to answer your queries as soon as possible.
