General Information:
Who are You?
You are interested in learning French, Spanish, Italian or English. You may be learning a foreign language for pleasure or for professional reasons or even for an exam coming up. You may be a parent looking for a language course for your child or for an original family holiday abroad.
Whatever your reasons for learning a new language, you are interested in enrolling on a language course abroad.
Who are We?
Experience Language is a language travel agency specialising in innovative language courses abroad. From our experience, we strongly believe that a great way to learn a language is by learning it in the country where that language is spoken. It is also important to learn in a friendly and safe environment. With this in mind, we have built up a portfolio of hand picked mainly accredited language schools offering innovative and fun language courses.
As an independent company, we are able to give you impartial advice and recommend the best language courses and locations to suit your individual requirements.

The Schools
The schools we work with are mainly accredited institutions that we have selected for their friendliness, the personal care they offer students, their academic standards as well as their social and cultural programmes. The teachers are all fully qualified native speakers.
While we are happy to recommend all the schools we work with, it does not mean that all the schools can meet your requirements. Contact us (by email, telephone or via the website) if you need some advice and we will do our best to help you.
How to choose a school and location >>
The Courses
Most courses take place all year round and are aimed at students of all levels and ages. Some courses take place on specific dates and are aimed at students of a specific level. We offer courses of varying duration, from one week to six months. Most students enrol for two to four weeks. Courses take place from Monday to Friday unless specified otherwise.
Prior to the course or on the first day, students take a placement test to ensure they are placed in the correct ability group. In some schools, lessons only begin on the second day.
The Levels
Schools use the six reference levels defined by the Council of Europe:
- Beginner: A0
- Basic User: A1 and A2
- Independent User: B1 and B2
- Proficient User: C1 and C2
You can estimate your level by visiting the Council of Europe website. Alternatively you can download the self assessment form below:
In the summer, most schools offer a class for each level; in the winter, schools often offer less classes, ie.less levels. Note that there are specific starting dates for beginners.
Accommodation
Most courses can be booked with or without accommodation. Depending on the chosen destination, types of accommodation include:
Host Family
Host family accommodation is for all ages, not just juniors. Through living with a family, you experience a full immersion in the country's lifestyle and culture and get a chance to savour some typical dishes. It is nice to have the comfort of a home and yet have the freedom to come and go as you wish.
You can choose breakfast only or half board (breakfast and dinner). We recommend half board as most of the discussions with the family usually take place over dinner.
Student or school residence
Most of the residences offer small studios with a private shower and kitchenette. This type of accommodation usually attracts students up to 35.
Apartment in a hotel residence
We can recommend studios as well as apartments in hotel residences.
Hotel
We can recommend hotels for all budgets.
