Their Experience
Intensive Course in Aix - October 2009-"The lessons in the morning were very good: grammar was explained in a clear way, we learned by talking, not just doing only exercises. There was a lot of communication all the time. The group was 6-7 persons, just the best size. The evening classes were more devoted to culture. As the group was small - 3-4 - we could again talk a lot. The teachers were changed: every other day there was a different teacher. This was good as then we could adapt to different speaking habits (some people speak more rapidly than others). In the evening there was a culture programme - cooking, petanque, wine course, salads and aperitifs, at the weekend there was an interesting excursion to Nime and Pont du Gard, at the very beginning there was a town excursion with comments on history. Everything was well organised and everything was in French.Mall
Standard Course in Nice - September 2009-"I didn't know what to expect, never having done anything like this before, but overall was very pleased with the experience. The written and oral tests on the first morning seemed rather daunting, but the teachers were really relaxed about it and certainly did a good job of putting us all in the correct classes appropriate to each person's ability. I wanted to improve my french conversation skills above what I had learned at school, and was able to do just that. At first I was shocked to be involved in discussions of topics such as politics, the National Health Service and the war in Iraq. But then I was pleased to be able to understand and take part in such discussions. My vocabulary has certainly expanded in ways I wouldn't have predicted! It was good to be in a group with students from several different countries - everyone had something interesting to add to the discussion reflecting their different ethnic background."Stephen
Standard Course in Aix - August 2009-"I have gained tremendously from my 2 weeks at the school, and now feel able to hold a 'basic' conversation in french, quite an achievement for me. Many thanks to all the staff and fellow students who made learning a new language so much fun" Alan
French and Sailing in Hyeres (Juniors) - August 2009-"Overall I found my time my staying at LaNavarre very fun and enjoyable. The first couple of days were hard as it took a while to get used to but I got in to it quickly and really enjoyed my time staying there.", Frankie

French and Tennis in Vichy - August 2009 - "Brilliant trip, interesting people and lovely accommodation. Helpful staff and right level of teaching, not too taxing but not too easy. I thoroughly recommend experiencelanguage indeed have already done so.", Nadine
Standard Course in Montpellier - July 2009-"As someone with a fairly good level of French, I was unsure about how much I would learn. However, the class I was placed in provided me with a challenge and I finished the week feeling that I had learnt a tremendous amount and that my confidence in speaking French had returned. I would recommend the standard course for anyone who really wants to make the most of their holiday: lessons in the morning provided a perfect structure to the day, with pleny of time in the afternoons for tourism and relaxation. I would also recommend the school to families; I was accompanied by my daughter, who only has a basic knowledge of French (having studied for 4 weeks). Her progress after one week's intensive course has been remarkable. She is now preparing for a GCSE mock exam at the end of August and her stay in Montpellier means that she has a real chance of passing and gaining entry to the A level course".Carmel
Standard Course in Paris - July 2009-"The school provided a great experience for me. The classes were very beneficial and everyone was so pleasant. I definitely learned a lot and the knowledge I gained as a result of attending this program will benefit me greatly in the future." Catherine

Summer Camp in Antibes - July 2009-"I had a fantastic time in Antibes! Each morning we had informal and enjoyable lessons with our French teacher and were free to explore the beautiful old town or go on outings to Nice, St Tropez, Monaco and so on in the afternoons. It was new friends from all over the world, however, who really made the experience for me!", India
Intensive Course in Annecy - June 2009-"My three weeks in Annecy was everything I had hoped for; lots of outdoor activities, an excellent language school and a fun crowd to hang around with the evenings. The town itself was beautiful, let alone the ring of mountains surrounding the crystal clear lake Annecy. Pack your swimming gear!", James
Standard Course in Granada - June 2009-"I regret only doing this for 2 weeks because by the end I wanted to stay for a lot longer. My spanish improved vastly, and I loved Granada so much. I found that because I was learning the language, it was a lot easier to immerse myself in the country and culture, and I enjoyed my stay more for it."Shuhei
Total Immersion in Moustiers - June 2009- "The excellence of the school stood out for me in the sheer professionalism of staff and small detail as in arranging opportunity to do some horse trekking in the mountains, sailing, visit to Aix en Provance with expert guidance to Picasso and Cezanne etc. The cuisine proved to be exceptional and the rapport between students a most pleasant experience. I have already recommended the school to other prospective clients. For professionals and Industry Leaders it also proved itself to be an excellent "networking" opportunity of the highest calibre.", Frank
Combined Course in Montpellier - May 2009-"I had a great time. My host family were incredibly welcoming and included me in all their plans. I would definitely recommend a family as the best place to stay because you have the opportunity to speak so much more French with them. The school is slap bang in the middle of town so you can go out and try all the numerous cafes in your lunch breaks. The morning courses are great for meeting people and improving your vocab and the 1:2:1 lessons in the afternoon helped me get my head around the grammar. Montpellier is a lovely little city and I would thoroughly recommend it and the school to anyone thinking about coming to France to study the language."Sarah
Mini Groups in Paris - April 2009-"I greatly enjoyed my time in Paris and believe it to be a very good language school for French - certainly the best I have been to. With tuition in small groups and staff who genuinely try to fit everyone in at an appropriate level where they can make progress, there is an excellent learning environment. The teaching is good. To make maximum progress (and get the most for you money - even if it means paying more), I would recomend taking the mini-group classes in the afternoons as well as the basic morning lessons.", John
A Level Revision Course in Montpellier - April 2009-"I was really worried that everyone in the class was going to be so much better than me, but the course really help me with my confidence in speaking french. None of the revision was really easy and it really tested me to think more in French rather than translating everything from English to French. I felt that as the lessons were all being spoken in French it tested my listening skills and was so much more focused than my lessons in england. 40% french, 60% english. Astrid, my teacher was so helpful and explained any queries. As a revision course it was really helpful to have the debate midweek as it was completely off of the cuff and i learnt much more about the language."Robyn

French for Seniors in Montreux - September 2007 - "I approached this experience with some trepidation, unsure whether I would be out of my depth but I need not have worried. My only regret is that it was too short. The stay with the host family was most enjoyable; the approach of the school was reassuring and competent; and the excursions were informative and interesting. School trip to Nice - March 2003 - "The trip I took to Nice this year was not only a lot of fun but fully worthwhile also. Staying with French families gave us the opportunity to use and improve our French language skills, it also gave us a feel to how French people live their lives. In the morning we would attend French classes which were particularly good because we were expected to talk French the whole time. In the afternoon we did various different cultural and educational trips such as visiting Monaco, the local cathedral, the old town in Nice and some art galleries. There were so many different aspects to this trip. Learning about both the day life and the night life in France was interesting and just being part of the French culture for a few days was very enjoyable." Sabina, 16
Tuition and trip - September to December 2003 - "As someone who had last learnt French over 10 years ago, I was a bit nervous about taking it up again. However, I found the teaching methods used on the beginners' course meant not only that the lessons were great fun but that I was learning a lot at the same time. The course was specifically tailored to our group's aim of being able to speak 'practical French' i.e. French that would be useful when on holiday in France. The real highlight was the trip to Nice at the end of the course. Nice is a fantastic place to visit and we were using our French as soon as we stepped off the aeroplane! The activities set out for us ensured that we practiced all we had learnt but left us plenty of free time to explore and to taste the local cuisine! I will definitely be continuing with a second course and will be looking forward to another trip to France!" Pippa, 26, Reed Online
